About
We received a permanent Eco-Schools flag, the first in the Coleraine
Borough Council area to do so. Mayor Mr Timothy Deans visited at the
end of May 2006 to present our flag.
Eco-Schools links
Eco-Schools is an international programme of environmental and
sustainable developmental education for schools.
Projects
- Litter
We had a daily tidy up of the schools grounds, we also collected litter
in and around Kilrea and put up notices about litter.

We have been spending time collecting and recycling textiles, Yellow Pages
and Christmas cards. We also had a visit from Bryson Recycling.

We put up signs to remind people to switch off lights and read
electricity meters.
- Water

Water Aid.
- School Grounds
In our school grounds we have been planting and looking after our
environment:

– tree and hedge planting,
– gardening in beds at the front of the
school,
– growing potatoes and other
vegetables.
